Conference on Competition Policy in the New Economy

At the Skolkovo Hypercube complex, an international conference was jointly organised by the Skolkovo Foundation, the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia (FAS), and the Institute for Law and Development. Russian and foreign experts discussed the challenges faced by antitrust authorities upon the backdrop of new economic realities.

The event was the first of its kind in terms of advanced discussion of the modernisation of Russian competition law and policy in the context of rapidly evolving technologies, especially in the digital and biotech sectors. The event was attended by representatives of research centres and chairs of competition law and antitrust regulation of the FAS, representatives of government and business, and other Russian and foreign experts. The conference discussed issues of developing new approaches to market regulation, which are increasingly global and trans-boundary in nature, as well as issues of innovative development faced by competition authorities in relation to high-tech markets.
Also, the conference allowed participants to discuss trends in the development of competition and tariff policy, and the exchange of international experiences in the implementation of modern approaches in global legal practice, and a summary of the results and plans for the development of scientific and educational activities in the field of antitrust.
