The Institute at the International Academic Conference "Transformation of Competition Law"

Director of the Institute Alexey Ivanov and Chief Researcher Ioannis Lianos took part in the visionary Conference "Transformation of Competition Law" in London, on October 20th at University College London.

The event was organised jointly by the Institute's oldest partner - the Centre for Law, Economics and Society of UCL and the Centre for Global Competition Law of the College of Europe. Ioannis Lionas, Chief Researcher of the Institute and professor at UCL, solemnly opened the conference.

Discussions focused on global transformations which today are influenced by the versatile doctrine of antitrust law, and development therein. Four main areas of transformation were identified, and they became the themes of four panel discussions: (1) The Political Dimension of Antitrust, protectionism and populism, free trade and globalism; (2) Financial Challenges: Issues of Joint Ownership; (3) Technological Transformations: the emergence of new antitrust law; (4) "Social" and "Green" Capitalism: a movement towards social and green antitrust?
