The Institute at the SPIEF
Director of the Institute Alexey Ivanov and leading researcher Ioannis Lianos spoke on May 24 at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
Within the framework of the forum, the panel session "Transformations of the Competitive Landscape: Antimonopoly Regulation in a Digital Economy" was held.
The digital economy challenges the antitrust authorities of all countries. Most of the world's antitrust authorities today face the need to revise their approach to markets of the new economy. How is one to assess the market situation, what approaches and mechanisms are to be used in changing conditions and - the most important question - how is competition itself transforming? How does industry react to new trends? How is it possible to strike a balance between innovation in industry and antitrust control?
