Strengthening the Cooperation of Russian-Ukrainian Legal Scholars

Kirill Molodyko, editor of the Russian Law Journal's special issue on Ukrainian law

A few days ago, the latest issue of the Russian Law Journal was published, focused on the concerns of Ukrainian law. The journal is currently ranked second among all legal publications on the Scopus ratings from the Eastern Europe region. In order to maximise the dissemination of knowledge in society, the editorial policy of free access to the full texts of published articles through the official website of the journal is in effect.

At the invitation of Professor Dmitry Maleshin, editor-in-chief of the journal, Kirill Molodyko, leading researcher at the HSE-Skolkovo Institute for Law and Development, was appointed as editor of the Ukrainian issue.

A number of English-language articles of Ukrainian scientists living in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Odessa were selected for publication in the special issue based on the results of open competition. The subjects of these articles include the problems of politicisation of constitutional and legal relations, the constituent power of the people, the ratio of the duties of a lawyer to their client and the court, the regulation of consumer lending, as well as forensic methods of investigation of crimes in the vehicle market.

In his introductory editorial Kirill Molodyko noted the high importance, despite political conflicts, of maintaining academic collaboration, and open dialogue between Ukrainian and Russian researchers in relation to complex problems of modern law.
