Research Associate opportunities - Competition Law and Policy and Digital Capitalism Project

The HSE-Skolkovo Institute for Law and Development at the National Research University Higher School of Economics is seeking research associates with an interest and experience in one or more of the following areas: competition policy (and/or law) in the digital economy.

The work involves exploring in detail the enforcement of competition law and competition policy in the digital economy in the BRICS’s countries. Knowledge of competition law (or competition economics) are essential. Candidates should have knowledge and/or expertise in competition law and policy in the digital economy.

The researchers will join a multi-jurisdictional team that will monitor current as well as emerging issues and opportunities in the digital economy, in particular paying attention to developments in policy and regulatory approaches all over the BRICS’s countries in this area. This will involve not only focusing on the use of the competition law tools, narrowly defined, but also the development of different forms of regulation of digital platforms, infomediaries and other actors involved in the digital economy.

Length: six months with possibility of extension

Start: November 1^st, 2018

Place of work: Moscow, Russian Federation or on the remote basis.

Amount of work expected: 5 days per week with a total of 40 hours with two days off (Saturday and Sunday).

Tasks: collection of bibliography and data on the abovementioned issues, data analysis, preparation of working papers, policy papers and contribution to research papers prepared by the research team, preparation of posts for the website of the research project

Working language: English; knowledge of Chinese or Portuguese is an advantage.

Salary: $ 2500 per month after tax.
