Seminar "Antitrust in the New Economy: Competition Law and Intellectual Property"

On October 3rd the Laboratory for Law and Development hosted the seminar "Antitrust in the New Economy: Competition Law and Intellectual Property" with the leading research fellow of the Lab, UCL professor  Ioannis Lianos, one of the world’s leading experts in antitrust regulation.

Inside the Pokrovsky Boulevard halls, Ioannis' seminar addressed the relationship between the protection of competition and the regulation of intellectual property, as well as approaches to antitrust regulation for new industries (Internet, biotech, pharmaceuticals, etc.). The event, held with a question and answer format, was with key lawyers and economists specializing in antitrust regulation, and members of the nonprofit partnership "The Promotion of Competition".

Ioannis Lianos joined the staff of the International Laboratory for Law and Development this past summer. In the Laboratory, Lianos leads research and educational projects in the field of competition law and intellectual property rights, as well as other research projects aimed at improving the legal regulation of innovation activity in Russia and the other BRICS countries.
