Ioannis Lianos Gave a Speech at the IP Roundtable

On December 1, a roundtable session was held at the Skolkovo Hypercube, organized within the context of cooperation between the Foundation and the Intellectual Property Court.

A triumphant signing ceremony for the cooperation agreement took place that same day, prior to the start of the roundtable. It was dedicated first and foremost to the joint work being done in the field of development and promotion of new legislation and the development of the legal framework, and also to the joint training of experts in the field of intellectual property, and it accorded with the type of activity carried out by the Laboratory.
Ioannis Lianos opened the roundtable with a presentation in which he assessed financial evidence in legal procedures related to intellectual property issues - the method used in competition law.
A report presented by the Chairman of the Intellectual Property Court, Lyudmila Novoselova, outlined aspects of arranging the participation of technical experts in the examination of cases by the Intellectual Property Court.
Lyubov Kiriy, the acting director of the Federal Service for Intellectual Property, shed light on Rospatent's views about the role of experts and specialists in disputes regarding patents.
Next to speak was a representative of the Japan Patent Office, Takeshi Niinomi (he spoke on aspects of organizing the activity of the patent office in Japan and the High Court of Intellectual Rights and the official relations between them'), followed by a judge from the Munich District Court., Oliver Schoen, who gave a talk on technical knowledge in the field of intellectual property'.
Practical issues related to the participation of technical experts in court sessions were highlighted in speeches by Anastasia Vlakhova, an assistant professor in the Department of Applied Mechanics and Control of the MSU Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, and Aleksei Zalesov, President of the Russian Group of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI).
