Alexey Ivanov at the Eurasian Antitrust Forum

Over February 16th & 17th, Almaty hosted the Eurasian Antitrust Forum, organised by the Institute in cooperation with a number of organisations, including long-time Kazakh partner of the Institute, the Centre for Development and Protection of Competition Policy. The Forum discussed the most topical issues of how to generate and boost an environment of competition for the Eurasian Economic Union and the Republic of Kazakhstan, including the identification of the factors which need addressing, such as the suppression of facts, abuse of dominant positions, and the dominance of cross-border and sectoral markets. Also discussed were the latest innovations in antitrust legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, among other fruitful topics.
 
The speakers and participants of the Forum were representatives of the Court of the Eurasian Economic Union, the Eurasian Economic Commission, the antitrust authorities of the EAEC member states, academics, experts, and business people hailing from EAEC countries.
