On the Preparation of a High-Quality Scientific Article

This joint workshop of the journal Law and the Institute was held with a full house in attendance.

As part of the strategic cooperation of the HSE-Skolkovo Institute for Law and Development and the HSE faculty of law, an open workshop on preparing high-quality scientific articles for legal journals was held on November 26 in the Hall of the Academic Council of the law faculty. The event was moderated by leading researcher at the Institute, and associate professor at the HSE law faculty, Kirill Molodyko.

Speakers of the workshop who kindly agreed to speak: Vladimir Bagaev, Director General of the publishing group "Law", Deputy editor-in-chief of the journal "Bulletin of Economic Justice of the Russian Federation"; and Vladimir Rumak, chief editor of the journal "Law". During the event, the following issues were discussed in detail:

- How are incoming manuscripts to the editorial offices of Russian academic journals reviewed?

- What are the typical mistakes one sees by authors of such manuscripts?

- What determines the timing of the consideration of articles?

- Why are some materials accepted for publication and others get rejected?

The event lasted about three hours, gathered in the hall of the Academic Council of the HSE faculty of law, for a real full house atmosphere provided by both HSE graduate students and external guests. According to the guest roster, attendees included students and staff of the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law under the Government of the Russian Federation, the multi-office legal firm Egorov, Puginsky, Afanasiev and partners, MGIMO University, Kutafin Moscow State Law University, the University of the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation, as well as a number of private lawyers.
