Legal Challenges of the Healthcare Industry 2019

Institute employees spoke at Forum sessions on 6 February

The Pharmaceutical Law project kicked off at the HSE in 2013, making 2019 its 5th year. Participants gain the skills and competencies necessary to do legal work in the healthcare sector. There is also the Centre for Research of the Regulatory Environment for Pharmaceutics and Biotechnology. A new master's program Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Law opens in 2019.

In view of these developments, it was decided to hold a forum, which would contribute to the interaction and cooperation of people working in various areas of the healthcare industry — government, law firms, manufacturers and academia. The Forum “Legal Challenges of the Healthcare Industry 2019” offered an opportunity to discuss a number of issues in various fields of pharmaceutical law.

The director of the Institute, Alexey Ivanov, and a research assistant, Daria Kotova, were the key speakers of the panel session Legal Issues of Competition Regulation in Healthcare.

Alexey Ivanov also delivered a keynote speech on Compulsory Licensing to Stimulate Innovations in the Pharmaceutical Industry, while Daria Kotova talked about the social aspects of competition regulation in healthcare.
