Alexey Ivanov: "People tend to give away valuable things, the importance of which they do not fully understand"

The Director of the Institute commented to RBC TV about the creation of a personal data marketplace in Russia.

According to Kommersant, the Internet Initiatives Development Fund (IIDF) and the Israeli "Human Digital Capital" will invest up to 250 million rubles into the "Datamania" platform of the IDX company. It is understood that via it, Russians will be able to give business access to their personal data for a fee. Over the year, the project plans to attract 1 million users.

Alexey commented on the initiative for RBC: “People tend to give away valuable things, the importance of which they do not fully understand, and this can significantly worsen their quality of life or, for example, radically change the parameters of their social structure. For the most part, people do not perceive data about themselves as a thing of value to be stored. For society, this approach, in my opinion, is harmful."
