On 9th April, Claudio Lombardi, research fellow at the HSE-Skolkovo International Laboratory for Law and Development, conducted a seminar on economic evidence in innovation sectors for the bachelor students of the HSE Faculty of Laws. The study was part of a seminar series leading up to a course on “Law, Economics and Society: Innovative approaches to legal analysis” to be commenced on coming September 2015.
Maxim Bashkatov, a leading academic staffer at the Laboratory along with fellow Maxim Karliuk delivered presentations at the Second Moscow Legal Forum: the Kutafin Readings, 'State Sovereignty and the Rule of Law: International and National Dimensions', which was held on 2-4 April 2015 at the Kutafin Moscow State Law University (MSLA).
Towards a New Global Intellectual Property System: the Threats to and Opportunities for IP Development in BRICS Countries
On April 2nd, Laboratory Head Alexey Ivanov delivered a report at the international theoretical and practical conference 'Economic Cooperation of BRICS Countries as the Basis for a Multipolar World', organised by the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies.
On the 19 and 20th of March, Rome hosted an international conference on intellectual property and competition in the pharmaceutical industry, organised by the Italian Competition Authority and the World Intellectual Property Organisation. The Lab was represented by Alexey Ivanov.
The government is in the advanced stages of giving permission to allow parallel imports for certain categories of goods. In February, Head of the Laboratory Alexey Ivanov attended a meeting with First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov on this topic and a subsequent discussion with participant parties at the Federal Antimonopoly Service.
Through the 16th and 17th of February, Head of the Laboratory Alexey Ivanov and a number of colleagues from development institutions and state authorities held a seminar with Italian partners for brainstorming on the creation of special juridical systems.
